Peter Strzok, the agent overseeing the F.B.I.’s investigation into links between Mr. Trump’s campaign and Russia, answered, “No. No he won’t. We’ll stop it.”

Let me explain it to you LB. Suppose you're driving on the interstate. You're doing 65 in a 65 in the right lane. A whole group of cars blow past you.  A couple minutes later a cop pulls you over and gives you a ticket for doing 80 in a 65.

You go to court to fight it. You tell the judge you weren't speeding and your dash cam that was showing your speedometer can prove it.
The judge tells you, This court doesn't have time to look at dash cam videos all day. The officer said you were doing 80 in a 65, then that's what you were doing. I find you guilty as charged.
You had proof, but the judge didn't want to look at it.
