New day, almost the same results. It looks like 20 Republicans voted against McCarthy in round 4 and 1 voted "present".

The good news is Santos didn't lie about who he voted for.

* Rep Norman from SC is a " never Kevin" & although politics is cutthroat, one has to worry how long Kevin will stay in this fight. Despite Trump's endorsement of Kevin for Speaker, has been met with resistance from 20 members of the GOP.
* Looks like the waning power of 45's endorsement is in full view & on display.

There are at least 8 "never Kevin" Republicans so unless McCarthy makes a deal with the Democrats, he is toast. And if the other 12 vote "present" or don't show up tonight, Jefferies will be the Speaker.

* So we got " 20" who are not interested in giving Kevin the Speakership position, and l was asking myself why? After all, they all conservatives, right? Turns out the likes of Gosar, Boebert, Norman & others are demanding : Important leadership position for themselves, a balanced budget in 7 years among other things. They are the minority in their party and they want to set the agenda. It's a mess as one has come to expect.
* Wasn't there talk at one time to nominate 45 to the Speaker position which he later rejected as just " hot air talk? To him it was the Oval Office or nothing. He is not inclined to : work his way up the ladder political to being President once again. He has tasted power and the Speaker of the House position does not get the nuclear codes, nor does he or she order a military strike on enemies- nor does he get to talk one on one with the likes of Putin or Lil Kim. That's the difference.

Just proves how powerful that MAGA Kool-Aid really is. It's now a power struggle where the minority of the House Republicans want McCarthy to give them what he already promised to others. There are no plans that benefits the people, but those MAGA drinkers think investigating non-politician Hunter Biden does.

Based on what I'm watching in the House, they want Trump to be the Republican nominee in 2024. And many want him elected so they can be pardoned for their crimes.
