Never thought much of so called "experts" that believe it's their job to tell people how to spend their money. Probably are many problem gamblers and people with addiction problems on just about anything.

There was a poster, RjOh that compared the cost of buying lottery tickets to buying smokes and/or beer. Just found out that a pack of smokes cost around $7 and at a pack a day, $50 a week. Even if $50 a week lottery player just won something "every once in a while", IMO, they have more to show for their money than a smoker.
