Why don't we mention Trump's age? Easy, it's not a problem or an issue. If it becomes one, we'll know. Actually the fact that he can stay up late tweeting, and can dish it out back and forth with people shows he's still doing very well.
Some older people are still quite with it right up to till the end, others are not. When someone is "slipping" mentally, it becomes obvious to anyone that spends any amount of time with them. And even to those that don't. Sometimes they can seem okay, other times not so much. The longer it goes the worse it gets. Clues are repeating themselves, losing their train of thought in conversation, (aka forgetting what they wanted to say), lack of comprehension, not remembering how to do simple things, walking off in the wrong direction when out with others, not recognizing people they know, confusion, stumbling when they walk, loss of balance, a lack of awareness, forgetting things (address, phone number).
It's easy to make fun about it, but if you've never had to deal with it personally you don't have a f'ing clue. And I hope you never have to. Believe me, that's something you don't want.
