Have you ever wondered about those self-checkout aisles? Nobody seems to be paying attention to me, but of course I always pay for the items I take. 

Now, how stupid is this guy to think he could get away with this?  If you can't use the link, just Google $4.88 plasma Walmart and there will be several articles.

A man switched price tags on a Sanyo 42" Plasma TV at WalMart and used the self-checkout paying only $4.88.  He was stopped at the door by police. 

He's now in jail.  (I wonder if he he'll have television privileges.)

If I ever tried doing something like that, I would first fine tune the plan. I wouldn't even remotely attempt it until I did. Focusing and channeling my thoughts. But all he ended getting was static from the cops. Arrrggg...

No...I don't condone stealing unless you're an elected official, Cheif executive officer, lobbyists, or anyone else who is protected by the government. Then it's ok....lol
Actually I was playing on words. I can't see how you missed that one. That was a compliment by the way...lol

Oy! Sorry. I got a new refrigerator delivered today and my brain needs defrosting. I now see what you mean. I am suddenly experiencing more clarity.

It's not just the security cameras-
The self checkout line is monitored by a clerk and whatever is scanned comes up on her computer screen as well. I betcha that $4.88 looked quite odd for a TV....
