It's hard to imagine this making news.  I remember when the AF stopped the pilots from going supersonic over land sometime around 1980.

We used to hear sonic booms all the time from the F106 interceptors that were based at the local AFB here.  I remember the Ba-Boom the shaking windows and some times stuff falling off a table or shelve.  It's funny that they make news now.
