Meadows told investigators he couldn't recall Trump declassifying Mar-a-Lago docs

Published:

"Meadows claims that his alleged actions, including participating with Trump in a phone call to Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger, should be immune from state prosecution because they were performed in his capacity as a federal official."

Just an observation, but it sure looks like Mark Meadows is dying to tell the court Trump told him to participate in the Raffensperger phone call. What makes it worse, Meadows could not recall Trump declassifying numerous classified materials that he took from the White House.

As Chief-of-Staff, Meadows can state as fact it was his job to participate in demanding asking Raffensperger find over 11,000 more Trump votes and can't recall the declassification of documents that Trump took from the White House.

Only time will tell if it's a "get out of jail free" card.

* Meadows wants to move his indictment in Georgia from a State to Federal status where he can delay delay delay. Trump would love to do the same, only time will tell. It's a mess anyway you look at it.

* The new excuse is if Trump goes to prison, what happens to the secret service,  are they to accompany him & be in cells as well? In any event, special housing will be provided, regardless.

* Now l read that Meadow's attorneys are asking the judge in Georgia to throw out the " Rico charge" because- (Get this doozy) he was " Acting in his capacity as Chief of Staff for the Potus and was " bound" to carry out the wish of the President.

* Wait a minute: Didn't Hitler's sidekicks also say the same thing, we were carrying out orders of the Furher. I wonder if that tactic worked for them, anyone know? Anyone, anyone?

Heard that Trump is burning through his legal defense fund faster than the uneducated MAGA Kool-Aid drinkers and cash their welfare checks and send him the money.

* l am reminded of what the RICO charge against him said: That he was the head of a " Criminal Enterprise." To think that he put himself in thst position when he should have stopped that thinking minutes after the votes had been tabulated.
* He should have looked back at those moments when he " swore to uphold the Constitution " and told his advisors to simply forget it and accept defeat & recognize that the voters had changed their minds on his leadership. But his arrogance & narcissistic behavior is what got the better of him.

* l am reminded of the ending of the Godfather, where Michael dies all alone after being a powerful Mob Boss. I think if the Maga minions deserted Trump well....

Trump painted himself into a corner and doesn't really have many outs to keep him out of prison. The House Freedom caucus is threatening to shut down the government if charges against Trump are not dropped.

Guess they don't have the stomach to do what the Jan 6 MAGA Kool-Aid drinkers did. And I doubt those people will risk going back to prison.

It's more like the house fascist caucus.

* That's the problem with some conservatives on the hill like the Freedom Caucus- they think they have the backing of the majority of the American voters, they forget that the voters kicked Trump out of office. They forget that Trump LOST before the Jan 6th attempted Coup & he has only worsen his position with the voters.

* Wasn't Meadows a Freedom Caucus member? He is also implicated in the Rico charge in Georgia & l read something that was interesting- even if 45 becomes President & somehow drops all federal charges against him, he cannot dodge State charges because there is Federal power & then there is State power- he is definitely cornered!

The consensus polls show Trump leading with 53%. Not sure if the MAGA KA drinkers are doing the math because those numbers translate into Trump losing again. (Does he ever win?)
