Listen to her answer to the reporters question at the end. It tells you right there she is not serious about going after criminals.

She's serious they are sending the state police and the feds to Albuquerque.  All the goons shooting people over a  road rage etc.  We are also getting out of state gangs etc. It's bad.

The real problem is guns in the  wrong hands. Senseless killings all the time.  Teenagers robbing and shooting everyone.  It's bad.

Gang bangers  shot up my  street last June.  Three teenagers walking home from the park just barely escaped from getting shot. They ran like Olympic sprinters and jumped in my backyard. I saw everything from my south living room window.    The cops showed up and loaded up another dead body.

Same thing here in Balt. They're juveniles so they can't do anything. It was on the news a couple weeks ago, a kid stole his 17th car and hit another car. The lady that he hit held him there till the cops came. The cops found out the car was stolen and handcuffed him. Then they took the cuffs off and let him go. Why? Because they found out he was 11 years old and since he's a juvenile they are not allowed to do anything, except call a parent. No arrest, no charges, no record.

As to your state, taking guns away from citizens is not the solution. They need to get tough on the criminals. The bad guys love it when their victims are defenseless, and until they are punished harshly with mandatory jail time, not just 3 or 6 months but with years, nothing is going to change.  Can it be done? Yes it can.  Here is the crime rates in NYC from 1965 to 2019. I remember those days when it was bad.  https://www.disastercenter.com/crime/nycrime.htm

Look what happened from 1994 to 2001. Almost everything came down by half. They got a mayor who was tough on crime. I know you don't like him, but Rudy did a good job cleaning things up. And the ones after him kept it going. So credit to him for being the one to change things around. They need a mayor like him again now. Things are getting worse.

Something needs to be done.  Another man was shot this morning a mile from my house.   It's getting to be very dangerous in this  town.

Got no sympathy....They wanted Democrat leadership and the lack of of law enforcement that accompanies that mantra. It's all on the voters. But disarming the citizens should help.... Good job Gov. Grisham.....Turn it back into the wild west. Let the criminals run wild.  Bless your little heart for the common sense leadership!!!

Dana it was the same when we had a republican governor. The Republicans made a big push for guns.   So everyone has a gun. The order hasn't stopped anyone yet the shootings will continue.  There are plenty of cops but too many knuckle daggers with their guns.  I've live all around this country and have never owned a gun.

The citizens will never be disarmed in this town.  Are you kidding!  We have some of ths most lenient gun laws in the country.  My neighboor across the street has enough guns to supply an army.  Dana if you wish to get in a conversation using your same tired rhetoric doesn't help anything.

Reporter: Do you really think criminals are going to hear this message and not carry a gun in Albuquerque on the streets for 30 days?
Gov: No. But here's what I do think. It's a pretty resounding message.

No. Because they're criminals and don't give a dam about any laws you make. To them, going to jail once in awhile is just the cost of doing business as a criminal. They'll meet up with some buddies and learn a few tips on how to be a better criminal.

Yes the gun laws are very lenient and the law abiding and the thugs are all packing.  That's why more state police and feds are now in town. I saw several yesterday.  It was alot quieter last night instead of gunshots.  There will be more for the Ballon fiesta next month when the city gets people from all over the world.
