Is there a good reason to have a "rate a post" option especially when it should be obvious the same group of people giving high marks to "congrats to the winner" are the same people giving negative marks post from people that don't agree with them politically?

And it wasn't that long ago when critics called state lotteries "tax on the poorly educated". Makes me wonder if some of the people here are trying to prove the critics right.
