Mayors, governors, run for office saying they will defund the police and people cheer them for it.
Then they get elected and they defund the police just like they promised.
But when you need help right away who do you call first? The police.
When the police don't show up to help because there aren't any available, do you do really think the mayor or governor will come to your aid instead? I doubt it.
