I don't think anything ever closes in Florida!! One Christmas I was invited to someone's home at the last minute and I had no trouble buying a gift. I'm not 100% sure, but I think I went into Walgreen's and bought a box of chocolates and a small gift basket of soaps & lotions. Did I ever tell you this story? About 5 years ago I went on an interview for a job at a local ceiling fan & lighting store. The manager was very nice and, when I asked him what days the store was closed he said Christmas and Easter. Anyway, I was puzzled and added "and of course Thanksgiving" and he answered "Of course not! I mean, after you stuff yourself with turkey and all the fixings, what's the next thing most people want to do on Thanksgiving?" I wanted to say "drink a few beers and watch football" but I didn't get the chance. "Go shopping for stuff like ceiling fans, he said with enthusiasm." I swear he wasn't kidding.
