It's raining cats and dogs!

Well the weather forecast did call for rain today. I told a gentleman yesterday that it would rain today. And he didn't want to believe me.

Well, he should look like a fool today, because he wouldn't listen to me! It's pouring out here indeed.

 

I like walking in the rain. Some people have floods in their basements. I'm glad that we don't have a basement!

Where did that expression come from? Animal Planet said one possibility is from all the racket during a thunderstorm.

Weatherpeople look like fools all the time when the weather doesn't cooperate with their prediction.    Guess nobody even cares.    Never heard of a weatherperson refusing their paycheck either, even though they are wrong.

One of the hardest courses I ever took in college was Meteorology.

I thought about taking Meteorology, but it is very difficult, from what you see on television news when they do the weather reports.

Oh, that's not half of it!   It's a lot of physics. They talk about climatic disturbances, oscillations, and the dynamics of the Earth's atmosphere. Fascinating, but not easy at all. I think the image of the "weather girl" has given a lot of people the idea that meterology is simple.
