How can you prove them right - or wrong? Only time will reveal if he is right. I certainly would have never predicted he would get a Nobel Peace Prize - but he deserves a pat on the back for that.

The greatest scientific minds in the world agree with Gore so I don't know how so many people can say Global Warming isn't an important issue. However, I'm not so sure we can do much about it. The population has exploded and we certainly can't stop progress. Even if we could, the wealthy people like Al & Tipper would have to lower their utility bills. I like Al Gore and would have voted for him, since he was obviously the more intelligent candidate. However, I'd probably listen to the people who tell me to take shorter showers, conserve energy, use a clothesline and replace my incandescent light bulbs if they weren't flying around in private jets and living in mansions.

That's an honor...congrats to him. Do you think Dubya will ever be awarded that Prize?   ;-)

He is in great company along with Jimmy Carter, Yasser Arafat, and the UN. I can think of many others who deserve the dynamite prize of peace more than Albert. As far as greatest scientific minds go, there are just as many great scientific minds that disagree with his propaganda. Science is not about reaching consensus.

I think Dubya deserves it more than Gore by a mile, since he has freed millions of people, these people include men, women, and children. Less beheadings = more peace.

Gore has been increasing his bank accounts, playing the stock market and by propagating fear through hollywood. Keep drinking the Kool Aid, Algore has got ya covered. Oh yeah, good luck finding some ice for that Kool Aid.

And giving a peace prize to someone who is responsible for so much death? How can you then give a peace prize to Al Gore, Jimmy Carter, or Arafat? They are all responsible for the deaths of thousands directly. Algore is an accomplice in the Clinton administration that allowed the deaths of hundreds of thousands in Africa, Asia, and Eastern Europe to name a few. They are also responsible for the deaths of thousands American civilians and military.


If Al was so smart along with his boss Bill, one would think they should have prevented this whole thing from happening in the first place, but they didn't, instead they chose to listen to advice from lawyers and people like Matty Albright, Sandy Bergler etc.. Algore and his administration are directly responsible for the events of today, that is historical fact. The reason we have not been attacked again on our shores in 6 years is the result of America and its allies going on the offensive.    You see, Dubya along with congress decided it was time to take the gloves off and do something about it. There will only be peace on earth when one side surrenders, the other side will never play nice or be peaceful until they win or lose, I prefer they lose.

The Nobel Peace Prize was also jointly awarded to Henry Kissinger and Le Doc Tho in 1975. I was in college, but for those of us here who are too young to remember, President Nixon had ordered more than 100,000 bombs to be dropped over an 11 day period on Hanoi in order to pound the hell out of the North Vietnames troops and to bring "peace" to Viet Nam. It was not only the most horrific attack in history, it was reported to cause more than 5 times the destruction of the atomic bomb dropped on Hiroshima in 1945. Le Doc Tho refused to accept the Nobel Peace Prize at a time when he said his country was not a peace and there had been so much death. After that I lost interest in who was chosen as the Nobel "peace" prize recipient.

Sorry I made so many typos - but I think my comment can be understood. I stopped at Kissinger, but Yassar Arafat who was a terrorist was also awarded the Nobel Peace Prize. Up to his death he made no effort to hide his contempt for Israel and denounce its very existence and support terrorist groups that murder innocent children with their hatred.

four4me - thanks for the link. From the same newspaper - at least 9 of the "scientific facts" in the film An Inconvenient Truth were ruled to be false or overexaggerated. I'm actually a supporter of cleaning up the environment and conserving energy, but I have my own ideas of who are the biggest offenders. (Let's start with all the junk mail I get. ) Since this is Emily's blog, not mine, I won't continue after this, since I've posted enough. I did want to mention something that happened tonight that made me think of this blog. I was leaving the supermarket and noticed that the parking lot was wet, but it wasn't raining. There was a sprinkler or broken pipe spraying so much water that it was probably more than I use in a month taking showers, flushing the toilet or doing laundry. I see this all the time, even in the rain. Also, many people I know are conservationists simply out of necessity since electricity, home heating and gasoline cost so much. So that's why I got a little irritated before when I thought of the celebrities who preach green but spend more keeping their swimming pool pumps running than I spend all year on air conditioning so I can breathe.
