Check your e-mail page and there may be an option there to put that e-mail address on a block list.

I don't think LP has anything to do with all the spam people receive every day, including similar emails. I checked your profile and, as long as you don't display your email publicly, Todd certainly doesn't share it with anyone.

All joking aside, I often get over 1,000 junk emails every day. It's gotten to the point that I direct every email, except for the addresses I've listed in my address book, to go directly into my bulk mailbox. Then I just delete them. I have another email address I use just for family and business purposes.

Spammers will get your email address from a variety of sources or just "phish" for active email addresses. Let's say my email address is justxploring@aol.com (it's not) I'll get dozens of emails addressed to justme, justyou, justlooking, justshopping, justsurfing, etc. (you get the pic) and I'm included on that list. My very 'private' email address (which is my first & last name) began getting some junk, and I'm guessing it's because I applied for a job online or purchased some items, although they're not supposed to share your personal information. It's a little frightening, since I don't know how people get access to them.

Guess I haven't been much help. Sorry. As Jap suggests, try blocking the email address, although I've found that they keep changing all the time, so it's only a temporary fix. Someone once told me that just by reading these emails you are letting the recipient know it is an active email address, which is why I won't even open anything with a sender I don't recognize. Maybe that's why some of the subjects say "Nancy, this is urgent. Please open!" These maggots are getting more and more sly all the time.

I got one that I hadn't seen before. It was a scam saying I had a refund from the IRS saying . It looked so real. It even had the .gov in the address and the IRS graphics and all. That is too bold.

If you didn't buy a Hot Lotto ticket, you can't, won't and didn't win.

The Email address with the suffix "za" indicates that the claims agent is in South Africa. Since Hot Lotto is played only in the U.S., why would they have a claims agant in South Africa?

Scam. Period. Any Email telling you that you are a winner in a lottery you never entered is a scam.

I got scammed out of $450 by an LP member with a sob story about an 80 year old sick mother.   They hit me up every month with the same story saying they would play me back.

And about a month ago I got an email from an LP member asking for $1000 to help bury a dead father. I confronted him/her about it (felt harrassed/solicitated) and even sent the email to the webmaster. No response from the webmaster but the person who sent me the email came back with the attitude, I have right to ask for money from LP people and said he/she asked 6 LP people.

So we do have scammers on this board. I say scammers because you can't believe any sob story regardless of how bad it sounds. This ain't no charity ward - this is a lottery forum. You have to treat them like you do those emails. Just think about it, money is discussed all the time on this board and wherever there is money there are people trying to separate your from yours.

LP members who attempt to solicit money from other members using this forum should be banned from the site. It is tacky, inappropriate and shouldn't be allowed.
