Wow....The Brits leadership sure has a unique method of support for one of their biggest allies... That's okay, we have some new friends, that enjoy us solving their neighborhood bully issues. Even the kurds want in... I almost have bit of pity for the " regime"...JK !!!! Come join the feast boys !! They are your problem children as well !!

Thanks Sully. I'm sure they're gaming Pres Trumps moves every way they can think of. However Q used game theory on them years ago and am sure all running our show game it out on a daily basis. Move, counter-move.

Thanks CDanaT. Allies on the surface but follow the money. I had no idea how complex it was until listening to Promethean. Their mention about the insurance issue enlightened me a lot.

Spain wasn't going to let us use their bases. But Trump got them to change their minds.

@ Grrurston and CDanaT.   I asked Grok about it and this is what came back.

"No, Spain did not give permission for the US to use its military bases to attack Iran. The Spanish government explicitly denied the request, stating that the bases in Rota and Morón would not be used for operations outside the framework of international law or the UN Charter, and condemned the US-led strikes as unilateral and unjustified.

As a result, the US withdrew tanker aircraft from the bases, and Spain has distanced itself from allies like France, Germany, and the UK that have provided some support for the operation.

In response, President Trump has halted all trade with Spain and suggested that the US could use the bases without permission if needed, stating, "We could use their base if we want. We could just fly in and use it."

No further specific actions have been reported as of now, amid the ongoing US-Israel conflict with Iran that began on February 28, 2026. en.wikipedia.org

Not very understanding on Spain's part. Their decision will distant them around the globe!

Thanks Maddog. Additionally according to a DuckDuckGo search "Spain has historically lagged in meeting NATO's defense spending targets, spending only about 1.2% of its GDP in recent years, while NATO aims for 2% by 2024 and 5% by 2035. The Spanish government has faced domestic political challenges that hinder increased military expenditure, leading to criticism from other NATO members."
