I've heard it said that Pres Trum is finishing what was begun by (D) President John Fitzgerald Kennedy (May 29, 1917 – November 22, 1963) and Attornery General Robert Francis Kennedy (November 20, 1925 – June 6, 1968). Pres Kennedy intended us back on the gold standard backing the US dollar while Pres Trump is moving us back to gold and asset backed currency and away from the fiat dollar.  Both Kennedys were un-alived .. let that sink in.

Gold?  We don't need no stinking gold to back the dollar!

If gold backs the dollar then what backs gold?
Gold isn't the most useful resource.
If you have ever seen the original War of the Worlds movie there is a scene where a guy is desperate to get a ride to escape the invasion so he offers a box with gold and stocks and bonds to a driver with a full car and the driver doesn't accept because at that point it's a bunch of paper and metal that has no use.

Much later I heard Warren Buffetts explanation that people are paid to dig gold out of the ground only to have other people dig another hole in the ground to guard it and store it.
He then asked if you would rather have all the gold in the world or all the farmland in the world which would you take?

Gold? Ha!

Thanks Think. I always enjoy your perspective on events. 😊 Seems to be gold and other resources, things humankind has considered valuable over time. However some have said as humankind develops in its outlook and able to manifest what is needed, money itself will become obsolete. A tad hard to conceive of but maybe someday.

Recently Elon Musk pointed out that AI would eventually be so productive that people would be paid just so they could buy stuff...in other words productivity will be so high that many people will have the job title of "Consumer" and the job description will be "buy stuff".
With that he suggested "Universal High Income" to make up for the jobs that will vanish with coming productivity advancements

Thanks Think. Interesting! Also maybe part of AI will be replicators for goods and even food like in Star Trek. Fascinating possibilities in our future when we're over this hump.
