Judgment

Judgment means that you view the world as YOU are, rather than as IT is.

The trouble is, when people are judgmental, it's very hard to explain what you just wrote to them because they are judging you.

I hope what I wrote didn't sound sarcastic. Wasn't meant to be. It's true about all of us, even when looking at the little things. Ex: A friend wanted me to help her find a particular GPS at a store online or auction & she didn't have immediate access to a computer. I know my GPS models after doing tons of research for myself. She wanted me to bid on a Magellan Maestro 4000 that was on eBay. Just for anyone who doesn't know, they all have voice turn-by-turn guidance, but some say "turn in 500 feet" and some have street specific guidance called text-to-voice technology that say "turn in 500 feet on Main Street." It's a personal preference. I kept saying "But you hated your last one because it didn't say the street names out loud" & this model doesn't have that feature. You must want the 4040." She answered "I've seen it in action and I know what I heard and he (the owner) said it was a Magellan Maestro 4000. I'm positive." So I went back to cnet, pc magazine and all the other sites with GPS several reviews with specs, and even went to the Magellan website, but no matter what I said, she told me "I know what I heard and saw." I lied and said I couldn't get on eBay or the stores were out of stock, and then felt badly, so I called back and told her the truth, which was that I didn't want to get involved since I knew it was the wrong model. She finally called the person with the GPS she liked and called me back. "I'm sorry, Nancy. You were right. It is the 4040."

Sorry for the long story, but I've even had people insist I once had dark hair. "I remember when you worked at XYZ store and you had dark brown hair." I said "No, sir, you must be thinking of someone else" but he said "Nope, I'm sure it was you." In 56+ years I swear my hair was never darker than a medium blond, but why argue about it?

So, even though my examples aren't necessarily 'spiritual' they show that we tend to get images of the way things are in our minds, even if they aren't that way at all.

Trouble is, people judging people do not even know they are judging. In their minds, it's always other people judging them.

I know you should never judge others because you never know what kind of life someone has lived until you have walked in their shoes

I think it can be said like this too.

Wrongful judging means that you are twisting "what is" to make it fit to what you want it to be, or what you know it to be, which is not always right.
