That's why we get screwed. They hand out a bill and only have 72 hours to read it. Or else they do things like this and really stick it to us.
The longest bill ever passed by Congress was the Consolidated Appropriations Act, 2021. Passed in December 2020 as an omnibus spending and COVID-19 relief package, the legislation contained exactly 5,593 pages. The bill was so massive that physical copies had to be wheeled into the House chamber on carts, and lawmakers were given only a few hours to review its contents before voting.

That's why bills need to be voted on individually.
