You nailed it. The 14th amendment was enacted exactly for the benefit of slaves and their children. Not for children of tourist and illegal immigrants.

There are very, very, easy ways to keep from getting deported. 
#1) Don't sneak across the border. If you do you are breaking the law and will be deported.
#2) If you have a visa or are applying for one, don't blow off your scheduled meetings at the local immigration offices.
#3) Don't over stay your visa. If you do you will be deported and may not be allowed back in.
#4) Don't commit any crimes and get arrested while holding a visa or while waiting for the citizenship approval process to play out. If you are here illegally you already committed a crime.

Do it legally. If you obey the rules, and follow the process and become an American citizen then you will be welcomed with open arms no matter what you look like.

If you can't figure that out or you don't want to follow the rules and the process to do it legally and you get deported, well then too freaking bad. It was your own dam* fault and you have no one to blame but yourself.
