Tip for Shaving Bearded Ladies

Published:

Here's a tip for shaving whether you're a man or woman.

Take a hot shower.  Apply your shaving cream immediately when finished.

Here's the key:  As you're shaving, rinse your blade with the coldest water available.  Never use warm water to rinse your blade even after you're done.

If your razor blade never sees anything but cold water in it's lifetime, it's life expectancy increases two or three-fold with a cool, non-irritating, close shave every time.

If you've been using hot water to rinse your blade, try the cold water approach and see what I mean.

Have a good Holiday Season, everyone!

Have no experience with bearded ladies! LOL

But your blog brings up an interesting topic.   How long does a regular disposable Gillette (or other) razor last for men shaving their face?

I can get 30 days (30 shaves) - sometimes doesn't quite get that many but then around 3 weeks (21 shaves).   That is using hot water to rinse the blade (not having heard of your cold water trick, until now).

Truecritic, the only blade I've used that gets that amount of life is the Mach 3 Turbo. I've been using the same blade for over two months now.

OK...I don't want to upset the ladies...but...you guys don't know how to shave and when your man sees your shaving technique, he cringes deep inside imagining that happening to his face.

Shaving in the shower with a dull Daisy and using bath soap as a shaving cream...man, that's just not right. ;-)

It's a hairy situation. I had to comb through a lot of scenarios before I realized what I was doing... by rinsing with warm water. The blade dulled faster, thus the root of the problem at hand. There were gray areas too.
