Yes. How many times have we gotten advice from someone and then ask "so when did you live there?" and the answer is "Oh, I've never even been there but I was told..." The same is true for bigotry.   I once spoke to a person who went on and on about a certain group of people who did this and that and said "I hate them." I said I was sorry she felt that way and asked "Sorry you had a really bad experience." Nope - never lived with or met anyone from this race or religion. Just "felt" that way. Now how ignorant can someone be?
