AOL Straw Poll - Presidential Candidates

Published:

Last Edited: December 27, 2007, 9:59 am

AOL has been conducting biweekly straw polls for the Republican and Democratic candidates for the '08 election. These are current results of the leaders during this polling period (12/21 - 1/4).

Republican (143,900 votes)

Ron Paul.........32% (leading in all states except NY, NJ, AR, MS, GA)

Giuliani...........16%

Huckabee.......16%

Democratic (127,800 votes)

Clinton............45% (leading in all states except IL, IA, KS, WY, AK, HI, D.C.)

Obama............27%

I found these results interesting when compared to the other "polls" out there.

I think it's interesting because sometimes polls are used to sway votes. They are so slanted.

Any polling system that relies on calling 700 registered Republicans and 700 registered Democrats on a land line phone to tap into the consensus of the American voters is hogwash. Within 4% accuracy? My ass.
