Praying to God to "save" our lives means praying to Him to save us from our own negative thoughts.

This is similar to what Christian Science teaches. Mary Baker Eddy wrote a lot about the effect your thought has on disease.

so wrote louise l. hay too., in her book "You Can Heal Your Life." Good book. Amazing info in that one. It may seem far fetched to some, but she proposes that we gain weight to protect ourselves. Looking back when I had gained weight in the past and people I know that are overweight, this could very well be the case.
