I was asked in a previous (comment) if I had tried this consept with Mega Millions. As a matter of fact, I have. But, with the limited amount of time I have available right now I am unable to add any additional posts at this time. As a matter of fact, I missed today's postings because of having to care for my wife yesterday and all day today. We discovered in November that she has lung cancer. She had one treatment of chemotherapy and the standard treatment didn't work. Her right lung is filling with fluid from the cancer and she can't get her breath. She has also been having problems with low sodium causing confusion and depression. We had the fluid drained last Saturday and she was okay until yesterday. We spent all day today at the medical center having a permenant drain installed so we can drain the fluid ourselves here at home. We have an appointment next Tuesday at The James Cancer center to explore other chemotherapy options. Hopefully we can be directed to an alternative chemotherapy treatment because the standard treatment isn't working for her and time is running out for us. If an alternative chemo treatment can be successfully administered, then we can follow up with rediation treatments and hopefully extend her life a little longer. If not, we will just have to do the best we can with the time we have left together.

My heart goes out to you both ... had no idea about the situation until now. Sincere wishes for the very best outcome with her treatment options.

LottoVantage, I just went through this with my grandmother last year. You spend as much time with her that you can. I'm glad to hear she will allow the treatments. My grandmother refused any treatments of any kind. She would only take medications and breathing treatments. They also put her on steroids to help build up her lungs., which did help out alot. Whatever you do, don't let them put her on any sedatives. My grandmother panicked when she smothered and it caused her heart to race and she had a stroke. So they gave her a sedative to help calm her down. But it almost killed her right then. When they took her off of the sedative she was more able bodied and we could talk with her. Had she taken the treatments, I'm sure she would still be with us today. But she was just set on not doing it. (For one, cause they couldn't sedate her to run the tubes down her. They kept trying to do that to her while she was awake. So I can't blame her for refusing.) And her stomach just couldn't take the chemo. She was in her 80's., so you can imagine.

We appreciate all of your thoughtful and caring comments. She is feeling a little better this evening and is able to rest a little more peacefully than yesterday. The drainage tube that was installed was very uncomfortable yesterday and last evening, but she has been able to relax with it more today.

Thanks again for your thoughtful concerns...
