It's already upside down! But I agree with you. We don't seem to have much of a choice any more in elections. Huckabee doesn't have a chance so McCain now can concentrate all his energy on fighting the Democrats.

The Republican Party seems to have a thing for candidates that smirk. We've had eight years of a smirking president. During the last Republican debate, McCain had an arrogant smirk on his face for the entire debate. At any rate, I predict a Democratic President in '09. McCain has been so virulent in establishing his credentials as a conservative and warrior that he's forgotten that 70% of the American public wants the war to end now. They do not want troops in Iraq for 100 years (his words, not mine).
