Speaking of idiots.  Congressman Henry Waxman is an idiot, as well as Tom Davis and the rest of those overpaid over-pensioned jerks.  This moron and his ilk are salivating over Rodger Clemens arse, watching this hearing and those responsible for it, is frinking ridiculous,  this hearing is pathetic! Henry Waxman and the rest must be voted out of congress. Abcesses, arses, that is what your tax dollars are working on, unbelievable.

I happened to catch a bit of that hearing also and thought the exact same thing.

What does steroid use in baseball have to do with running the country?

Well Tom Seaver said he believed the scrutiny was very important and necessary. Baseball has always been part of the American dream and our culture. Young people have to know that they can achieve greatness in sports without injecting drugs into their bodies. How can anyone possibly compete in sports when an opposing player is hopped up on performance enhancers? This does affect high school and college students who want scholarships and think that the only way to be someone who can hit a baseball is to take steroids. We need to change that image back to the days of Babe Ruth days. I remember when I was in Fenway Park the day Carl Yastrzemski retired from the Boston Red Sox. He thanked God for his body. Maybe these modern day supermen should do that to.

It is curious that everybody is all up and worried about martial law, the govt. being too intrusive, and the economy in the dumps. This inquisition they had yesterday was IMHO a reason not to worry about the congress coming to take us all away, they are to busy discussing roids in peoples' arses and enjoying it.

This shouldn't be the job of the congreff (old english), it is baseball's problem, baseball should be inspecting the overpaid players arses and setting things right, not the congess. The govt. can't be everything to everybody, people need to take initiative and if they don't like steroid use don't go to the games which perpetuates the bad behavior.
