My smoke alarm was going off all day and driving me crazy.  I just changed the battery last week!  So I finally opened it up and there are ants crawling inside.  They must be setting it off somehow, although none of them are smoking.  They must have read my anti-smoking blog.

So, are these fire ants?   

I was going to spray the area with pesticide, but I don't want to antagonize them.  I hope after this is over, I don't need to call a carpenter.
