Windows XP Service Pack 3

Came yesterday in email from Microsoft downloads.  The link installs a kernel which enables XP Service Pack 3 to automatically download.  Mine is downloading and installing right now.

Read the particulars before you click it.

 


Windows XP Service Pack 3 Release Candidate 2 via Windows Update
Windows XP Service Pack 3 Release Candidate 2 is now available to the public. Specific registry settings will allow you to download SP3 via Windows Update.

XP SP3 is still in pre-release.
Please check Microsoft site for additional ditails on Formal Release Dates.

I stand corrected. I did download it and so far everything is fine, no problem.

You mean there is an update from M$ that actually requires user approval before installing itself?

Yep this one did.

Still no erratic behavior from the puter. Wonder if this one has fewer glitches than the one they'll release for public consumption later?
