Red Skelton's Pledge of Allegiance

Published:

This is Red Skelton, sharing an experience he had as a young student before there were 50 states.  It is 39 years ago (1969) he did this performance, yet there is something Nostradamical about it, it is only 4 minutes long and it reminded me of what the pledge really means. I hope you enjoy this.

I loved Red Skelton - one of my favorite comedians. Notice that he said government is...."people to the leaders" and freedom is the "power to live one's life without fear"

This is what I grew up pledging my allegiance to, Jarasan. Unfortunately, some people in Washington have tried to take away those freedoms. I still love my country and my flag, and I would never burn it or spit on it. I just don't pledge my allegiance to tyranny and a government that has lost its conscience.

Just wait for tyrrany if full fledged socialism comes to be the way of life in America, but people can't say they haven't been warned by many here.

Great post, Jarasan, thank you very much!
