CBS DIDN'T STOP HIM- THIS IS GREAT

Good for him!!!
Surprised CBS let him get away with this even though he's right

Right on, Andy Rooney !

Andy Rooney said on '60 Minutes' a few weeks back:

I don't think being a minority makes you a victim of anything except numbers.. The only things I can think of that are truly discriminatory are things like the United Negro College Fund, Jet Magazine, Black Entertainment Television, and Miss Black America. Try to have things like the United Caucasian College Fund, Cloud Magazine, White Entertainment Television, or Miss White America; and see what happens...Jesse Jackson will be knocking down your door.

Guns do not make you a killer. I think killing makes you a killer. You can kill someone with a baseball bat or a car, but no one is trying to ban you from driving to the ball game.

I believe they are called the Boy Scouts for a reason, which is why there are no girls allowed. Girls belong in the Girl Scouts! ARE YOU LISTENING MARTHA BURKE ?

I think that if you feel homosexuality is wrong, it is not a phobia, it is an
  opinion.

I have the right 'NOT' to be tolerant of others because they are different, weird, or tick me off.

When 70% of the people who get arrested are black, in cities where 70% of the population is black, that is not racial profiling ; it is the Law of Probability.

I believe that if you are selling me a milkshake, a pack of cigarettes, a newspaper or a hotel room, you must do it in English! As a matter of fact, if you want to be an American citizen, you should have to speak English!

My father and grandfather didn't die in vain so you can leave the countries you were born in to come over and disrespect ours.

I think the police should have every right to shoot you if you threaten them after they tell you to stop. If you can't understand the word 'freeze' or 'stop' in English, see the above lines.

I don't think just because you were not born in this country, you are qualified for any special loan programs, government sponsored bank loans or tax breaks, etc., so you can open a hotel, coffee shop, trinket store, or any other business.

We did not go to the aid of certain foreign countries and risk our lives in wars to defend their freedoms, so that decades later they could come over here and tell us our constitution is a living document; and open to their interpretations.

I don't hate the rich I don't pity the poor

I know pro wrestling is fake, but so are movies and television. That doesn't stop you from watching them.

I think Bill Gates has every right to keep every penny he made and continue to make more. If it ticks you off, go and invent the next operating system that's better, and put your name on the building.

It doesn't take a whole village to raise a child right, but it does take a parent to stand up to the kid; and smack their little behinds when necessary, and say 'NO!'

I think tattoos and piercing are fine if you want them, but please don't pretend they are a political statement. And, please, stay home until that new lip ring heals. I don't want to look at your ugly infected mouth as you serve me French fries!

I am sick of 'Political Correctness.' I know a lot of black people, and not a single on e of them was born in Africa ; so how can they be 'African-Americans'? Besides, Africa is a continent. I don't go around saying I am a European-American because my great, great, great, great, great, great grandfather was from
Europe. I am proud to be from America and nowhere else

And if you don't like my point of view, tough...

I PLEDGE ALLEGIANCE TO THE FLAG, OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA , AND TO THE REPUBLIC, FOR WHICH IT STANDS, ONE NATION UNDER GO D, INDIVISIBLE, WITH LIBERTY AND JUSTICE FOR ALL!

I was asked to send this on if I agree or delete if I don't. It is said that 86% of Americans believe in God.. Therefore I have a very hard time understanding why there is such a problem in having 'In God We Trust' on our money and having 'God' in the Pledge of Allegiance. Why don't we just tell the 14% to  BE QUIET!!!

If you had given my this article to read without any hint of who wrote it and then asked me who I thought wrote it, I immediately would have guessed it was Andy Rooney. The way he puts his ideas and words together always gets my attention.

Absolutely unbelievable! It is surprising what kind of views some people hold and agree with. I wonder what would have happened if other magazines and organizations that did not adhere to minorities were put into this article instead.

In other words, to bluntly put it, this article is anti-minority. So what if I choose to call myself AFRICAN AMERICAN (which I happen to be), that is my choice. Why did organizations like the NAACP, Jet Magazine, and Black Entertainment Television get made? Read the history.

To me, having any special month for any race creed or color or person is uncalled for.

How come we never have orientals and indians complaing about stuff? I'm so sick of the slave card. Every country thru time has had slavery. I read the history alright. There were black slaves being traded way before the white man even thought about it. Enough is enough. Pull your straps up and enable a way to get things done, rather than blaming everyone else for bad deeds done long past.

We currently have affirmative action, which is total nonesense, but i digress. Don't even get me started on that one. Reparations is another that gets my goat alright. I'm so oppressed...please help. It sounds like me when I was much younger and wet behind the ears always blaming others for the lack of my irresponsibilty as a whole. Well...I'll blame my dad because of so and so. May mother and father divorced when I was about 5 so now I have a better reason for an excuse to act unruly and complain about my bad hands that were dealt to me.

Let every person be responsible for their actions which are the road maps to where they're heading. What heading you choose becomes the eventual path. Take responsibility for your actions, and that's all I have to say about that....LOL

I am not one bit surprised by the comment or your laugh. Native Americans, if you remember, had a lawsuit themselves a few years ago for the plight that they went through called Trail of Tears. Asians? We won't even go there, or have you forgotten the Vietnam, Korean and Pearl Harbor wars? I am quite amused that everyone wants to simply forget years of negative history against minorities. "Strapping up your pants and move on" is not that simple. Slavery for my people started in 1619 in Jamestown,Virginia and to my knowledge, there were no African Americans there at that time. It would not be amusing to you if the roles just so happened to be reversed. Personally, I love everybody and we should all be treated fairly. Not all of us are out there begging for handout. I busted my behind to get through college. I worked two jobs, studied, and raised three children while doing so. As far as the slave card comment is concerned, there were Caucasian indigenous slaves as well, owned by their own race. Try playing the card on that note. I don't like stereotypes and I would feel this way if it was directed at any other race. We should all try to work together, but articles such as this is brutally unfair.

Being Puerto Rican, born and raised in New York City. I totally agree with was is written in this post. I think it has gotten all out of hand. I don't think we will ever go back to "common sense".
