US Gas Prices

Published:

I looked at a graph on the US Gas Prices Website and there were two areas of high spikes both under GW Bush, Jr.  He ,even though not single handedly ,is to blame because HE IS THE ONE IN CHARGE!  Everyone knows that the Captain is ultimately responsible for what happens to his ship and this one is sinking under George.  If I made $4.00 a gallon money, I wouldn't mind paying it..but alas..I don't and I am sure many don't.  To see how gas prices have affected us, the town rolls itself up at around 6:30 in the evening..no joy riding or anything too much. I used to see the young kids riding in their cars..not too much anymore.  My business has just about pooped out because no one has money to spend.  I really don't expect things to get better but I do expect for them to become tolerable.  90% of Americans are now saying that the cost of gas has impacted them negatively.

And rumors of Bush attacking Iran in August will make the speculators at the markets jump for joy, cause they'll have the opportunity to raise the prices even more. Everytime some foreign affair burps, they cry panic. It's called fear pricing.

To say The President is in charge is to completely ignore the United States Constitution. In a country like Communist China only one person is in charge. In the United States of America the power is divided between two separate but equal groups, The Congress, the Supreme Court, and the President. Only the Congress can make laws. The Congress chose to do nothing to secure oil resources within its borders; instead wrote specific laws prohibiting the Preseident from doing anything. Thus tying the hands of the President. U.S. History 101, taught in all high schools in the United States.
This oil crisis did not happen over night, it took years to get where we are today. When the Congress started manipulating laws on who we can trade with, it impacted the value of the dollar. When we buy more then we sell, the dollar looses value. Because Americans love their cheap toys, electronic gear, and foriegn made clothes, the dollar dropped in value. The more you see made in another country on the tag on the clothes you buy and the toys you buy for your kids, or the iPod that plays you music, the faster your dollar depreciates. America has bought itself into a dollar that is bordering on usless. Back in 1957 (way before Bush), the United States demanded, and won, the concept that oil would be traded in US Dollars. Guess what, useless dollar, high oil prices. High oil prices, higher gas prices. This is called economics. So who got us higher gasoline prices, Bush or you? Do you buy American made products or do you have a house full of foriegn made products?
What goes around, comes around. Welcome to your backside catching up with you! You want some one to blame, look in the mirror and take some respoibility for your own actions and blame yourself for being part of the problem, not part of the solution. Pointing fingers at some one you don't like, makes you feel good, but neither makes it a fact or the truth.
Until every American makes the Congress lift restrictions, and allow oil drilling on US soil, it will always be a problem. One time, worse the the other, one time a little better then the other. You want more money? Keep the Bush tax cuts in place. Don't worry about the rich benefiting, you are benefiting and that is what is important. Kill the tax and the rich will loose some money, but they will be still be rich. Kill the tax cut, and you will immediately, that very day, loose 10$ of your take home pay, and 8% percent of your end of year income tax. Is that what you really want? A loss of 18% percent of yuur money, so you can punish the rich, knowing the rich will still be rich? D-U-H, be smarter then that! Don't cut your nose off to spite your face!

Don't put blame on the people. Do you for one minute think that 20 or 30 years ago, everyone was driving a yugo? The station wagons were the SUVs of the time. For the most part they were 8 cylinder hogs. People like you (mefirstyoulast) are so deep ridden with most people's mass hypnosis imposed by the media and the government, you lose grasp of what's really going on behind closed doors.

What's next? Your defense of this atrocity, the war, caused by Bush? Or it'll be your defense on the 400,000,000.00... That's right folks...400 million a day, that's 12 billion a month. And now he can't help himself but to attack Iran. This current war has just become too boring. He needs more unrest.

It just boils my blood to see people advocating crap like this. It sounds like Rush Bimbo always defending the prices while his 80 million dollar a year contract sails over comfortably thru his existence, lavishing on a non reality universe. He doesn't live in the real world. Anyway...I digress.

Seriously....people have to wear eyepads to not see what's going on with this planet, and it's achings. We as a whole depend on our so called leaders to look out for the people in every avenue, not just fuel prices. In 5 years, you will look back at my rants in my blogs, reading the newspaper headlines and matching them up.

Not just a year or so ago I was talikng about how the elite are trying to rid the middle class, and depopulating the masses. The first step has begun with the prices of fuel. and some crazy tactict that backfired with corn fuel, starving the already famined population. DEFEND THAT ONE>>>!!! But instead, a very well informed and well versed individual will make many statements without looking at the whole picture.

It's not just about fuel prices my friend. We are at a crossroads unlike any other. There isn't any time to pick on just one thing.

A clock doesen't work only because of one mechanism. There are a myriad of mechanisms working together within the mechanical clock. The springs, the coils, the needles and the cogs. It takes the cooperation of all the mechanisms working in concert to work effectively. If one component fails, the watch will go into repair.

As you may have already noticed, I'm not really politically savvy or saavy...I forget...lol or even privvy to specific, internal differnces or ideals, but sense, this overview of..."Something isn't quite right" kinda feeling.

If you can't feel that...then I must call you Spock from now on...LOL,

Ok. Lets you your way. Right now today. Hillary is a member of the US Congress, is the smartest woman in America, and has great experience gained from eight years in the White House. Obama, is a member of the US Congress and is being promoted as the miracle worker of change. McCain is a member of the US Congress, with multiple years involved in the path of our county.
Name one thing that either one of them has commited to do to resolve this economy problem? What exactly, are they going to implement, on their own, without support from the Congress?
If one of them is to be our new President, then one of them has to deal with this problem. How, EXACTLY are they going to resolve it? Surely, each of them is so intelligent, they have a percise plan, one not thought of by the current President.
I've looked around, NO ONE in either party has presented a solution that will solve the problem. Maybe carbon credits will solve the problem in twenty or thirty years. But I want you to tell me what the genius Obama is going to do. Show me how much smarter he is then Bush.

What about the spikes in 1973 and 1979? Jimmy Carter could have done something during his presidency and we would not have gotten to where we are now! He was too busy crashing helicopters in the Iranian desert and giving away the Panama Canal to care about stagflation and a looming oil problem though.

If you have been paying attention gas will go to $12 to $15 per gallon regardless of what happens to the economy. We are entering a period of wealth destruction. You might as well start cutting back right now and figure ways to save money before you really get slammed. Do not buy foreign products if you can possibly help it because of the fuel consumed to make them and transport them here. If you have cable TV cut it back or have it shut off. Walk and carpool as much as you can. Plan your trips and routes in advance to reduce fuel consumption and maximize what you can get done.

AGAIN dont say you did not know 12 to 15 dollar gas wasn't comming.
Do yourself a favor and start cutting back NOW. Dont buy foreign products they are wastefull, Shut off or Cut down your Cable TV, conserve gas, find other ways to save.

Question asked by mefirstyoulast:

What exactly, are they going to implement, on their own, without support from the Congress?
How, EXACTLY are they going to resolve it?

Tenaj says: Bush has shown us what a president can do without Congress. EXACTLY what Bush did more than any other president combined in the history of the White House when it came down to what congress passed.

Without getting into a long discussion about each president and his blunders or achievements, why is it that Bush supporters can point a finger and say "Jimmy Carter was the reason we had inflation" but won't accept any responsibility for our current economic recession? I can only look at my life and I know it was much better when Bill Clinton was president.

tenaj: A safe assumption is that the Messiah Obama will be the next President. That being the position, he will also have approximately a 70 majority in Congress. Knowing that, he has totally ignored you , me, and every one else, about something he can do to relieve the high price of gasoline.
My previous question remain un answered. Eveyone says Bush got us here. Show me a statement from the half-white guy that gives any indication, what does he plan to do to reduce the price of oil, thus the price of gas????? He has said nothing. He knows nothing. Therefore he is less smart then Bush! Where is the answer? I wanto to know an answer. As President, what can he do, single handedly, that Bush cannot do - to lower the price of oil, this gasoline? Haven't seen an answer yet!!! D-U-H !Show me the plan!!

I spent a little time researching the double increase claim against GWB. I discovered that two years ago, Nancy Poliski stated she would lower oil prices. In the past two years, since she claimed to be the all knowing, gasoline has almost doubled.
So, lets see, the Queen Bee, the most powerful woman in the US Congress, the groups who write laws, has not only done nothing, zero, nadda, but has sat on her manicured nails while gasoline almost doubled. She has accomplished nothing.
Now, years later, I have heard nothing but how the Messiah Obama is going to provide "change" to America. The same type of change as the Democrat leader of the U.S. House of Representatives changed? I am not sure I see the advantage here. A man wants to replace a loser President, but cannot come up with a single solution to the problem of gasoline problems, not can he provide a single insiance where he would do any thing smarter. So much for the Messaih!
