What is the best Internet Security Software?

Published:

Reading about them online gives me a headache! So many choices, so many reviews.

How about you folks?

Any opinions on Norton 360?

Trend Micro Security Pro? (Heard this was one of the better ones)

BitDefender?

What do you use?

I use Defender. Asteroids is a close second.

Lottolaughs...I use AVG anti virus Free Edition. It was suggested and installed by a guy who works on my computer when I have problems. I do part-time confidential work online, and AVG was accepted by the company I work for. Plus, it's free. Just put AVG anti virus in Google and it will lead you to their website. I've been using AVG for 3 years and have had no problems.

Hi LL,
I use Norton Internet Security on one computer and AVG Pro on a second computer and no problems with either one.

AVG and/or ZoneLabs ZoneAlarm Security Suite. When I had a 32 bit OS I used them both together. Now that I have a 64 bit system I can't use ZoneAlarm unfortunately.

McAfee. It has a site advisor that is an excellent early warning system, it updates signatures with no intervention, and if something is awry it lets you know.

I've been using Norton Firewall and SystemWorks since 2000. I love the automatic updates. I have never had a probem, but have been able to block programs that want to use the internet and I don't want them to.
When it comes to free programs, remember: You don't always get what you pay for, but you never get what you don't pay for.
