I'm very disappointed with this vote, especially the vote of my state Senator, Barack Obama. He totally flip-flopped on the issue and deserves all the wrath Karl Rove can muster. I wouldn't vote for him with a 'Chicago' vote.

The US Congress has set a very dangerous precedent by granting the telecoms immunity from breaking the law. What they did today was unconstitutional. This law will be challenged in court.

The theory is that few Democrat voters will be annoyed enough at that to vote ... to hold back theirs. The unspoken question is "Where ya gonna go?" The lesser-of-two-evils tactic is very well honed. It works very well in the left-right mindset.

Obama has said that ("where ya gonna go"?) in so many words in answer to his recent democratic critics. Despite the smugness of our two-party players there are other options available to the voter. It is time the voters look outside of the two parties to break this stranglehold they have on American politics.

The lesser of two evils is still evil.
