Quite a number of years ago, after reading some of Gail Howard's writings somewhere I think, I started using 1/4 inch quadrille paper to keep my 6 digit lotto game stats on.  It works great for developing "hit" and "miss" charts for each number in the game. You can "X" out a box for a hit and then start numbering after that from 1 to whatever until the next hit so you know how long each number has been without a hit., etc.  This same paper can be used to create hit and miss charts for each of the 3 digit positions also if one is interested in that info.  I also used it to keep track of the 3 digit pairs that hit and this could be for all of the "straight" hit pairs of which there are 100 front, 100 back, and 100 splits (front # and back #) or just for the 55 "boxed" pairs.  I also used it to keep my 3 digit database on for all of the numbers as they hit each day and night. I start each week on Monday and use two squares for the day draw and two squares for the night draw. I separate the days using red ink line and of course use a "day" heading for each column thru Sun nights draw (most states do not have a Sunday day draw).  In this manner after awhile I can easily see what numbers have hit on any particular day all the way back up thru the year.  Sometimes in DE I have noticed that particular pairs of numbers really like to hit on the same day of the week two weeks in a row.  With this chart I am always looking at what hit the week before above where the next draw will be hitting.  If I am playing a number with a pair that is in the number that hit the week before above were this weeks number will land, I might want to put a little extra on my number in case this happens. With that idea in mind, on to the topic in the title.

  I also use this paper to develope what I call the "220" chart. I call it the 220 chart because there are exactly 220 different numbers that are used to compile the 1000 straight numbers in the 3 digit game. 120 of these 220 are called the "6 way" box numbers, 90 of them are called the "3 way" box numbers, and then there are the 10 triple numbers to make the 220 total. When you multiply out the 120-6 way box #s by 6, you get 720. You would also be writing out all 6 possible combinations of the 6 way box numbers to get 720 of the straight plays. The 90- 3way box numbers are the double numbers which when written out in their 3 forms for each number gives you 90 x 3 for 270 of the straight plays. By adding the 10 triples, you have the 1000 3 digit numbers. I split the quadrille paper down the middle for this one and start on the left side making a "0" column, a "1" column, a "2' column, etc. up to a "6" column.  I start with the first full week for the year (sometimes I use part of the last year as I keep this chart in parallel with the 3 digit data chart I described above. I should have mentioned that I also use part of the last years numbers at the start of that chart also as I want the weeks to run from Mon thru Sunday.  On the 220 chart I am going to enter the numbers that hit in "pure" boxed form by rearranging them from low digit to high digit. For example if 705 were the number today, I would enter it correctly on the database chart, but on the 220 chart I would place it under the "0" column as "057".  As you develope this chart you will start to see that there seem to be lot of numbers with "0", a lot with "1" but not as many as "0", etc. across the page until in the "6" column, there are not many numbers at all. And of course this is because you are limiting each column of numbers across the page to only numbers starting with the column heading so that the "6" column has no 0s, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, etc.

  Once you have several weeks of this chart compiled, you may be able to look down thru the numbers in a column and see patterns of numbers that are "one off" from a number in the week below it .  By the way I forgot to mention....after you enter the 13 numbers that hit for the week Mon thru Sun, day and night, you draw a line under that week over to the center dividing line.  You will be developing boxes of various sizes depending on how many "0" or "1" numbers hit that week since there are more of them. Sometimes the weeks numbers will spread across the week's chart somewhat evenly with say 3 in the "0" column, 3 in the "1" column, 3 in the "2' column, etc. Other times you might have 6 or 7 in the "0" column making it a long rectangler box. When you get to the bottom of the page, you can start again at the top of the page on the right side of the center line and continue with a new week. It usually takes 3 full sheets to cover one year of numbers.  This chart comes in handy for finding a certain number without looking so hard on the main data sheet in case you are looking to see the last "831" hit., etc. You would just look in the "1" column back up thru the 220 chart and quickly find the weeks that it hit and then go to the master database chart for that week to see exactly how it hit straight.  You can easily see what numbers haven't hit yet during the year with this chart

  Now for finding numbers to play using this chart, I would look back up thru the chart for the last few weeks and look for a pattern such as under the "2" column where I might see "257".  The following week I might see "259". These two numbers would give me the idea to think about playing "258". I could then look  further back on the chart and see when 258 may have hit and if it followed this pattern before.  In previous weeks it might have come out of a pattern like "248", "268", so maybe it is time for it to hit again in a new pattern such as the one I mentioned using the 257.  I have used this idea often in the past as a system for just finding one good number to play. I also would play only boxed or combo with this system. One could start with as little as .50cents boxed, $1 boxed, or .50cents combo ($3 bet that lets you hit straight money no matter how it comes out).  One could play this number for only the 13 draws for that week or continue playing until it hits.  As far as money management goes, you would have 6 weeks at 13 draws a week plus 2 more draws into the 7th week before you would have to hit this number no matter which amount of money you decide to play at as long as you maintain that same amount of bet each time you play.  So that if you hit the number after 3 weeks of play, you would profit $20 on a .50cents box bet that pays $40 or as much as about $125 for a .50cents combo play that pays $250.  You could combine other information into selecting your number to play such as hot pairs, hot digits, etc.  Maybe you think an overdue pair is due that fits you number, etc.  I always leaned towards picking numbers from the "2s, 3s" columns as there are less numbers that fit into those columns and it was easier to see the missing parts of the patterns.  These are just some of my ideas for playing pick 3 without having to struggle every day to find a number. This is more of a "trend" system where you wait for something to happen over time.  Guessing the exact number every day for every draw is to hard and time consuming. Using the ideas in this method, I would work up my number on Sunday afternoon and wait until after the Sunday night draw to make my final decision. Then I would play my number all week long and maybe on into the next week or so. I was guilty several times of dropping my number only to have it hit the very next draw which is a real bummer. But I have won as much $3,000-$4,000 a year using these ideas and playing combo.  If I had a particularly good couple of weeks with a $250 hit each week, then I might move up to $1 combo for a $500 hit, ect.  But like all pick 3 systems, there are some "snag" weeks when it seems your number will not come. Trying to figure when these will happen is the hard part!  One final thought about all of this is that in today's world of computers and Excel spread sheets, a lot of players can easily assemble information in the aboe form with their computers.  I use comuter programs for a lot of lottery, usually the 6 digit lotto. But I have always enjoyed the old "pencil and paper" scratching at the local donut or coffee shop at night for my pick 3 play!
