lay-away is back

Published:

Saw my first Xmas shopping ad on t.v. Nov 1. Major retailer.

I haven't seen a lay-away offer in don't know how long.

Interesting times ahead.

A lot of younger folks probably aren't familiar with this early form of retail "credit". I hope the times ahead stay at the interesting level and don't dip below that.

Desperate times call for desperate measures. Retailers are reeling and scrambling for sales.

Now what retailer might this be. In my area it's just T.J. Max otherwise than that you have to travel 45min away to the Big K.

Saw that myself, interesting and bet the concept expands. Keeps people functioning within their budget.

I thought that it was a big mistake to stop the lay-aways in the first place. We will see many other common sense ideas return (if we're lucky) in order to sustain & survive in these difficult times.

I'm pretty sure the main reason it's back is not with the consumer in mine but another way to generate money with the fees involved.
