Who Needs To Lose Some Weight?

This summer I was a slug and spent too much time indoors. Hard not to when it's 100 degrees outside. But that's no excuse for my laziness as my treadmill sat staring me here in the face. Ah, well. Time to look forward and start doing something now!

A year ago I tried the South Beach Diet. Lost 15 pounds in 2 weeks but it's a little drastic. The No-Carb thing just doesn't work for me, I felt so tired and generally didn't feel good during the Phase 1 of the diet. So I kind of skip on to Phase 2 where I keep carbs in because, overall, I do believe the South Beach is one of the best diets out there and it does produce results. It's just a little slower this way, you won't lose a pound a day but you should lose at least 2 or 3 pounds a week, which is the healthier and safe way to go if you want to keep it off.

Today I'll start with some eggbeaters mixed with a little pico de gallo. I've gotten used to the egg substitute, it's not bad really. And no fat or cholestrol! And when you mix it with the fresh pico, mmmm. Very tasty. You can also add a little fat free cheese on top, won't hurt ya. Nothing in my house has been "full fat" or "full flavor" for years, LOL. Adding one slice of wheat or multigrain toast. Water and a vitamin.

For mid morning snack I'll have some reduced fat string cheese or some cottage cheese. I mix some sugar free Jello chocolate instant pudding in my cottage cheese, sound gross? But pretty good and curbs that sweet tooth.

Lunch will be some Morning Star chicken nuggets (the meatless kind). You would never know they're not chicken, with a little BBQ sauce. A smidgen of brown rice (Trader Joe's frozen organic, the BEST brown rice on the market!) and a side of broccoli and carrots. Half of your plate should be filled with vegetables, isn't that the new food guideline I read? If you look at your plate and see nothing but beige and brown foods you are not eating healthy enough! Make sure there is lots of color on your plate! Wink

Dinner will consist of salad, cukes, tomatoes, carrots, few olives with my favorite light Hidden Valley Ranch Dressing. I do add a few croutons on top. And perhaps a little deli turkey.

Maybe some sugar free jello for dessert.

You can't deprive yourself of anything really, that will only make you want to eat more. If you can find your favorites in "sugar free" or a "reduced fat" version than by all means don't be afraid to indulge a little once in awhile.

Anyone else want to share their daily "diet" journal, go right on ahead! It helps when you have support. We can start out own Lottery Post Weight Watchers.
