Matrix changes and number hit patterns

Published:

Scouting through the histories trying to get an idea about how the matrix changes will influence number patterns.  In some cases, seems to be a lot, others, not much.  43's an interesting example:

In 1999, 43 was a good hitter on PB, a lousy one on MM.  2005, that's reversed.

Otherwise, the changes in what hit with 43 pre/post changes are on the high-end numbers.  The low-end doesn't appear to have changed much.

43 simply switched horses, riding with the same saddle and bridle, but got a fancy new hat.

I haven't gotten around to looking at a lot more pre/post numbers, but if this is any indication I'd expect the lower end-patterns to mostly hold, while the upper end patterns take a while to establish themselves.

But there might also be another change of horses for some numbers.
