I will never forget the day I didn't buy my ticket

One day before me and my cousins went off on our annual fishing trip we stopped at a drug store to buy a camera.  Upon exiting the drug store there was a lucky lotto number machine.  You know the type, pay your 25 cents and get your six lucky numbers. Well I shelled out and got 3,10 12 28 31 42.  I started religiously playing those numbers in the Canadian 649 lotto.  A few years later I was living in Edmonton Alberta working as a landscaper.  I had just had a particularly tough day at work, got home tired, had a few drinks and wallowed in self pity at how my life sucked.  I was living with a friend, he and I were aspiring musicians hoping to get our big break. That never happened either, at least not in music.  Anyway my friend seeing me all depressed reminded me that it was Saturday and I hadn't yet bought  my lucky lotto ticket.  I just bellowed some drunken absurdity like "what's the F...en point!  I never win anyway".

Well I'm sure you can guess.  I did not buy my ticket that night but when I was looking through the paper the next day I saw the results. 3 10 12 28 31 42.  It's a miracle I didn't kill myself right then and there!!!

  2.3 million  !!!

Well here I am years later with a solid job and a beautiful family.  I learned over time that the self pity thing was pretty useless.  Don't worry be happy.

I still play the 649

cheers

Good for you, Bernie. :-)   I can't imagine what would go through my mind if I saw the numbers I've been playing for years in the paper. That's a lot of money. It did happen to me on a much smaller scale & I still think about it, but I can't really do anything without a time machine, so it's wasted energy. It was with a Florida pick-5 game. 3 winners split about $234K and I would have gotten 1/4 or approx $58K (before tax)   I didn't forget to play, but I made a decision to cut back on spending and dropped a couple of my regular combinations & then the numbers were picked. Ugh! Glad to know you are enjoying your life.   You can't put a price on happiness. (although I admit I'd like to win a jackpot!)

Try turning 30 and never been in love nor proposed to and you daughters' grandmother buys you an all white and pearled lingerie set and to top it off no mojo. So you see the point that I'm trying to get across is that although you were a looser in the lottery, I have it worst I am in the love game and the lottery. But I refuse to be a looser in life and continue to keep it movin.

I picked 10 sets of 6 numbers for the 6/40 here years ago. I didn't pay all 10. I just picked 1 and played a buck and one of the other 9 sets won.
7,14,17,25,27,33

I beleive it was in 2005 I had both the pick 3 and pick 4 straight on the same draw and did not get to the store to play them. 0040 and I forgot the pick 3 but I believe it started with a 4

On Keno I marked a bet slip wrong and got $250 instead of $2500

Nothing dumb yet on Mega or Fantasy 5. Strangley though the most I have ever won on Fantasy 5 is $10.

My scorecard is
3- $41
4- $416
5-$10
6- $100
Mega- $150
Keno- $250

but I have been playing more than 25 years to do that!
