......about an older person winning the lottery, remember this photo.   If I take a flight, I want this man at the controls.

He is a hero. All the passengers can be thankful for his military and 30+ years of piloting experience. This is what a cool head, quick thinking, training, and confidence accomplishes.

We can't forget the first responders, they also are heroes.

There are uncounted and unsung heroes working everday to keep us all safe, we never know of their work and sacrifice until a potential tragedy such as could have been, this brings to light their selfless dedication and love for their fellow man.

Thanks for posting this.

Thank God for guiding the hands of the pilot and crew and ground staff for bringing everyone to safety.   It's the talk of the town here.

I had no idea how much damage the impact of a flock of geese can do to a plane until I saw the images of what just one bird can do.

It was truly "A Mirace on the Hudson"

Well honestly you'd have to be a complete jerk to not want good things for a man who (1) saved 150-ish people and (2) went out of his way to make sure they all were safe. Walking up and down the aisles at least twice? Someone else could have been like "That's the flight attendant's job, I'm outta here".

I like feel-good stories like this...reminds me that the world isn't made up of as many jerks as 95% of the news stories would like for you to believe. I hope they keep reporting on it.

Aha! So it was Canadian terrorists that took this plane down eh?

Captain Sullenberger deserves the honor of leading our invasion of Canada to root out those terrorists!!

Canadian geese love the good life of the Delmarva peninsula, for that matter they love open fields of amber waves of grain (gramma)...............time to celebrate the cooked goose............

I'm very happy everyone is safe, but I also feel really badly that so many birds are killed every year. This is very, very common.   Several million birds fly into cell phone towers too. I wish there was a way we could increase technology without hurting animals.
