Beijing hotel fire video

Published:

Updated:

Check out this LiveLeak video of a luxury hotel in Beijing engulfed in flames.  Apparently fireworks set it ablaze yesterday.

Reporters are still on the scene waiting for the building's steel structure to melt and to collapse in its own footprint at nearly free fall speed, leaving behind only dust and a pool of molten steel to photograph.   Wink

@ Tenaj, It was not completed yet. No injuries.

Steel doesn't melt, Rosie said so. This video is fake, don't believe anything you see.

So now we know why some of those amazing graphics we saw from Beijing during the Olympics were computer generated. Much safer.

@Rick, you'd better be careful. Making *those* kinds of comments will get you a free stay at one of those new HR-645 centers. :)

@jarasan, the video is real. The molten steel was my fabrication....like the NIST explanation of how WTC # 7 collapsed on 9/11. First and last time in history that fires caused a high-rise steel structure to collapse.

Here's more info with still shots. Chinese site, you can use babelfish.yahoo.com to translate. Takes a minute to load.

Skyscrapers in the USA only collapse when jet airliners are flown into them.   I assure you if that empty building was hit by two Chinese airliners it would collapse faster than the speed of light.   And if that building had several thousand Chinese in them as well as several hundred more in said aircraft, the Chinese conspiracy people, would then say:

"It was a Beijing population control initiative."

I also suppose that the conspiracy theorists will tell you it is impossible to land an A300 airbus in the Hudson river, without a single death.   And then they'll you that bird don't fly that high up and the bird remains are actually Tyson Oven Roasters that were brought in to hide the fact that a Happy Birthday! mylar balloon filled with the noble gas helium that is causing global warming caused the aircraft to flame out and it was the French that are behind the insertion of the chickens which were inhumanely killed to hide Airbus' defective ailerons made in Venezuela, right?

Building WTC7 was never hit by a jetliner.

@jarasan, you keep missing my point. As time*treat said, WTC 7 was not hit by a jet. But it collapsed into its own footprint at nearly free fall speed. NIST attributed it to fire. This video shows that fire alone cannot cause a steel structure to collapse.

If fire (throw diesel in there too) cannot melt steel beams and cause a building to collapse, then we have to look for another explanation. No conspiracy theory here...just simple logic.

Well, there sure are some fireworks on this board!

OHHHHHHHHHHH! I get it now, don't buy Chinese steel.

Since fire melts American steel, maybe we should be buying Chinese steel. Obviously their steel doesn't melt by fire.

I wonder how all those Weber grills on our patios survive the intense heat of burning charcoal. Aren't they made of steel too?

Don't forget gas stoves. Nat-gas burns hotter than jet fuel. Of course, if there are no Enron et.al. records hidden in your oven, you should be safe. :)

@time*treat...HA! At least someone around here is using their head for something other than a hat rack.

Now about that missing $2.3 TRILLION over at the Pentagon...
