Janet, I totally agree. We are wasting billions of dollars on a war against what someone chooses to put into their bodies. No one has that authority over us. There are a lot of people sitting in jail for smoking a weed that used to be legal but made illegal by moralists. Prohibition didn't work and criminalizing pot isn't working. On the practical side of the issue, hemp could be a huge cash crop in the US for all its many uses. George Washington and Thomas Jefferson grew it and smoked it and they managed to create this country.

I smoke it when it's available. Never had a problem associated with getting stoned. I would recommend it to anyone over 'legal drugs' such as booze, anti-depressants, tranquilizers or sleeping pills.

Tenaj, I cut & pasted your link and just got an entertainment report showing teenagers screaming over the Jonas Brothers.   I never smoke weed, but I think after seeing this video I need a stiff drink. LOL

Yes, I agree that people should be able to grow marijuana in their own homes.

Thanks, Tenaj

$50 an ounce for tax? Yikes! It's been so long since I bought grass (1970-71) that I have no idea what it costs, but an ounce of marijuana in Boston when I was in college was about $20, and that was for the good stuff! If it becomes legal, then Mrs. Fields super fudge brownies might really get interesting. LOL

Justx...since we're the same age that price brought a chuckle...yeah it was $15 for regular, $20 for primo. Going rate for good stuff these days is $350/oz. That's why it's illegal...big profit to finance other illegal operations.

It should never be legalized...unless they make alcohol illegal. Everyone that I know, never, never did only one at a time. We can't keep drunk drivers off the road now. Can't even keep people from driving under the influence of drugs, legal or illegal. If weed was legal without the trade, I can guarantee it would be worse.

truecritic i disagree with you - pot don't come close to the harm of alcohol. If pot were legal - there will be less crack heads and less drug related crime. Pot should have never been illegal. It is not a gateway drug as it is projected to be. It's politics, fear and greed that makes pot illegal, not the harm that it does. And that goes way way back.

If you watch "The History of Drugs in America" on the history channel you will be quite surprised as why certain drugs become illegal in America.
