Experiment in Socialism

Experiment in Socialism

An economics professor at Texas Tech said he had never failed a
single student before but had, once, failed an entire class.

The class had insisted that socialism worked and that
no one would be poor and no one would be rich, a great equalizer
.

The professor then said,
"OK, we will have an experiment in this class on socialism."

All grades would be averaged and everyone would receive the same grade
so no one would fail and no one would receive an A
.

After the first test the grades were averaged and everyone got a B.
The students who studied hard were upset and the students who
studied little were happy. But, as the second test rolled around,
the students who studied little had studied even less and
the ones who studied hard decided that since they could not make an A,
they studied less.

The second Test average was a D! No one was happy.
When the 3rd test rolled around the average was an F.

The scores never increased as bickering, blame, name calling
all resulted in hard feelings and no one would study for anyone else.

All failed to their great surprise and the professor told them that
socialism would ultimately fail because the harder people try to succeed
the greater their reward but when a government takes all the reward away;
no one will try or succeed.

Excellent analogy! Thank You. This also reminds me that socialism doesn't work in practice, as in Europe. Communism doesn't work, as in China, China is practicing capitalism via communism, which allows them to cheat by leveraging (stealing) the workers productivity and wealth, destroying their environment, and manipulating markets by underbidding everything. If they didn't cheat it wouldn't work and this is how they bought our debt with "The Peoples Stolen Money". There is no way they could have accumulated the capital without stealing the money, you know like taxes, except they are not taxes, they just take it as it comes into the banks.

We should have never done business with any country that steals wealth from its people, period. It is dirty stolen money.

If we are not careful this could happen to us, it won't be taxes anymore, the govt. is getting this attitude, "If we wanted your money we'd (we'll) take it."

I love the story, it's dead-on.

The funny thing is that those who "get it" are nodding their heads thinking, "that's a nice way to put it." Those who place a heavy emphasis on what other people would think if it's discovered that they disagree with what they're *supposed* to think will plug up their ears (and their brains) and shout "BS!" to themselves in order to keep their brain in line. The thought of not being able to agree with everything that everyone in their social circle thinks is too challenging for them, so it's best just to plug up the brain.

I wonder if they will look back one day and realize that their lifetime of self-imposed ignorance did not make their lives any better?

Great one TA, love it!!!! Jarasan also China also has confiscated farm land and not paid proper compensation for it, many farmers complaining. Think the current US government is becoming schooled in China's corrupt policies in many areas.

And, of course, there is not, and cannot ever be, a classless society. Someone, some group, has and will have to make the decisions as to what direction in which that society will move, what goals must be achieved in order for that society to perpetuate, and how those goals are to be achieved. And those individuals, those groups, will be the ones who will reap more than their share of the benefits from that society.

Thanks everybody. I got this in an email from my Austrailian internet pal.
@Todd. Yes, when did the term "politically incorrect" creep into our culture? It came straight out of the Soviet Union. The point recently popped up in a book I'm reading: The Poisoning of Alexander Litvinenko and the return of the KGB, DEATH OF A DISSIDENT. Even the high buearacratic muky mucks are afraid to suggest the truth of a matter in conversation with eachother if it would infer a flaw in the idealized socialist system for fear for their safety. That would be a thought crime. It looks like that's where we're headed unless enough sheeple wake up and refuse to live in a police state. Long live the Republic!!!

@ jarasan= so true. I recently read about China now promoting Christian Bible study classes for businessmen. Guess why! They need a compass and a moral code to be honest in business!!!

Rush Limbaugh today made the exact same point I was making up top, except he was talking about Cuba. He said "lifting the US embargo on Cuba won't change a thing for the Cuban people, since they are already doing business with the rest of the world, what difference will it maKE IF THEY TRADE WITH USA? NONE!!!! Castro and his buddies just keep all the new money just like they've done the past fifty years!"

WITFruit do you think they have no cars newer than the 60's? WITFruit do they sell all the sugar they produce? WITFruit do they only have 7-8 sugar refineries now when they used to have over forty?

I'll tell you why, because when you have corrupt ignorant f'ing politicians in charge, everything goes right into the $hIp hole, pronto. And if we don't reign in the control freaks in Washington now in 2010 we will be in heap of trouble. LIVE FREE OR DIE!

Ladies and Gentlemen, I contend it is already too late. The government is embedded so deeply into our lives that nothing can remove their heavy hand. Now, with the EPA about to regulate CO2 emissions, they have it all for there is nothing in this country that does not produce CO2. I can't wait for all the electric cars that we MUST buy and use. And when the demand for electricity goes up, the EPA will require all generating stations to shut down for 12 hours a day. And should you disagree with any of their proposals, then your exhaling will be stopped. Cattle will disappear for their bodies will produce too much of that toxic gas. Manufacturing will be curtailed to just one hour a day.
Now, however, we can move to Cuba if we don't like it here.
