Hind-sight

If you were the sun late in the afternoon and you looked back over your shoulder and saw there was a guy back there taking your picture every day and posting it on his blog, this is roughly what you'd see.

I knew you'd catch me out on this, but I had to try. Those long shadows told you right quick that the picture was taken south of the line of sunset across Cabazon to my front porch. And of course, you're right. This is Cabazon viewed from Mount Taylor. If I'd taken a picture of myself over in Placitas on my front porch taking pictures I'd have had to shift the camera to the right maybe 35 degrees, which would have taken Cabezon out of the picture entirely.

You can see the Rio Grande Rift, however, running across the top of the picture, you can see the ghost town of Cabazon left of the plug, you can even see the outline of the Puerco River if you look closely.

But you can't see me over there taking pictures.

Wow! I am j-e-a-l-o-u-s. Some day I will live in a more picturesque area of the country, needing nothing but a fast Internet connection.
