Report: Tests suggest murder-suicide

ESPN.com news services

A Tennessee state medical examiner says preliminary testing suggests the deaths of former NFL quarterback Steve McNair and girlfriend Sahel Kazemi were a murder-suicide, The (Nashville) Tennessean reported Wednesday.

Kazemi and McNair, a former NFL co-MVP, were found shot to death in a Nashville condo on July 4. Police have already ruled McNair's death a homicide.

Feng Li, an assistant medical examiner who conducted the autopsies, said he will wait for the investigation to be closed before he completes the death certificate.

"The results were very consistent in supporting our decision," Li said, according to the report.

Press conference is scheduled for 2:45pm EDT. Not a surprise as far as I could see, since the door was securely locked from the inside and the ex-boyfriend had an alibi.

What a price to pay - and for what.

Just watched the news conference and it was hard to hear those specific details. Young folks have to make up their minds what they really want and stick to it, no matter what. Just like your vows say and don't let anyone or anything disrupt your family.

As far as I am concerned, I could not for the life of me understand how how Steve a multi millionaire could pick up such a woman. She was a waitress. She really didn't bring anything into the relationship except her body. When she found out her "money man" was going back home she couldn't stand it and killed him. I am just so very sad that he couldn't have learned this lesson without losing his life. He will be missed by many who benefited from his acts of charity and kindness. LESSON TO BE LEARNED FROM THIS: It is better to KEEP it at home.

i think steve told the girl he was going back to his family and she waited until he was sleeping to kill him then pull the trigger and kill herself also.best player we ever had here in tennessee and he will be missed by the community.he did a lot of wonderful things and that won't be forgotten.

How unfortuniite that a man of his calibur could get caught up in such an extenuating circumstance. Could home have been that bad, was retirement so boring or was this something that he was doing in secret all along. As a travelling Athlete it is easy to get caught up with young opportunistic women. It takes a man with strong faith and an even stronger constitution to leave them alone.
It's even harder to tell which one of them is crazy (the opportunistic girls that is) and who is not.

I want to know why the others took so long to call the police. Hate these two died but I am curious about what did they not want the police to see/find. But it is as my mom always told my siblings and myself, "What's done in the dark will show up in the light." I have a question to ask. How many of you have been in the car with someone pulled over for dui and allowed to take a taxi to your destination? A lot in this story stinks to the high skies. I know the police claims the crime scene was not compromised but I find that difficult to believe when you had people parusing the crime scene before the police was called. To me this is an eyebrow raiser.
