Four Hollywood, Florida, police officers and a crime scene technician are suspended with pay -- and probably contemplating career changes -- after being recorded by a police dashboard camera conspiring to frame a civilian driver for a crash. Alexandra Torrensvilas was arrested for driving under the influence only after a police officer rear-ended her at a traffic light, and that officer and his colleagues openly discussed, within range of the camera's audio pickup, doctoring their stories and the evidence to blame the woman for the collision.

Chains you can believe in.

The officer who ran into her had 8 prior collisions on record. Hollywood is in Broward County next to Miami. Lots of corruption there.

So he was a very bad apple, does this mean you believe we should not have a police force?

Not that this is an excuse, but just for the record, the woman he hit was driving drunk. There's never been any question about that.   Since she wasn't hurt, maybe she should be grateful they got caught because, as a result, the charges against her were dropped. The only bogus charge was property damage, since the cop hit her.

Since her drunken driving does not "excuse" the criminality of the officers (plural) involved, then there is indeed no reason to mention it. My concern is the gun & badge carrying "apples" that don't get caught framing people. I *believe* people with police powers should be held to a higher standard.

They frame people every day and get away with it.   Nice that it gets caught on tape once in a while before they get a chance to alter it. Somebody must have slipped up at headquarters.

Agree with Time*treat ..... "I *believe* people with police powers should be held to a higher standard."
