Man arrested for hitting girl with pizza

August 15, 2009
GAINESVILLE — A Gainesville father has been arrested for hitting his daughter with a pizza slice.
The 38-year-old man was arrested early Friday on a charge of child abuse without great harm, a third-degree felony. The man’s name was being withheld to protect the identity of the victim.
Deputy Nick Vickers says the man used racist and sexist terms when he asked his daughter to turn off her computer, and she fired back with some crude language of her own.
Vickers says the father “intentionally threw a slice of pizza at the victim, striking her in the back of the neck, against her will.”
The girl, whose age was not available, called 911 and her father was arrested.

Maybe the daughter was weary of her father hitting her and put a stop to it once and for all?
I was 28 and did something silly that my Dad didn't like, I was coming thru the french doors and he sucker punched me in the face. A flash said - You are 28 years old and you don't have to take that anymore. I punched back, knocked him down on the floor, picked him back up and threw him thru the doors that I just exited. I still don't know where the rage came from, but all those years of being scared of him was gone in an instant. He never put his hands on me again or threw things at me.
I know, honor your parents. I did, but I STILL don't think any parent has the right to beat their kids. There are many ways to do the same job, take away all of what the child holds dear for a week, a month, or even a year. No new clothes, TV, Wii and video games, allowance, free time, extra chores, etc. But to beat a child only damages the child and could make matters worst.
