Trojan Horse for astroturfers perhaps .... soften us up to accept government health care rationing, death counciling, decrease in medicare? Medicare could have had a smaller percentage cost of living increase equal to this proposed $250 and gone about its business except for ego showcasing itself.

If the administration worked the usual conservative plans that have worked before to keep Americans employed before would not hurt. Many senior citizens would be glad to work. Senior citizens are out of the ball game now with all this unemployment.
I have read many comments from small employers at different sites and many are ready to throw in the towel. This health care bill will throw this country into a depression. It will make the last depression look like a cake walk.
