"Everyone in Britain could be given a personal 'carbon allowance'

Last Edited: November 14, 2009, 9:47 am

One of our local tv stations had a segment awhile back about the accuracy of temperatures broadcast as opposed to what they really were where you live.  Below is a pdf link which shows weather stations around the US some of which are positioned in urban settings close to buildings impacted by man made heating as opposed to actual ambient temperature of real area environment.
These stations are where the numbers come from.
Referring back to an earlier blog post "Coming in December: World government
"..... climate-change treaty now being negotiated for adoption at the Copenhagen, Denmark, U.N. meeting in December.
".......President Obama will sign the treaty. It will take more than his signature to make the treaty binding, however. It will take the affirmative vote of two-thirds of the Senate to ratify whatever comes out of Copenhagen. ....."
".....The only way to insure that this treaty will not by imposed upon every American is to change the majority in Congress to people who pledge to reject all forms of international control. There are only 53 weeks before voters will choose America's future. It's time to get started."
Now that you've checked to see where the global warming numbers are coming from and if you like the idea of the story below then by all means urge your senator to ratify the climate change treaty Obama is guaranteed to sign next month in Copenhagen.
Who's guaranteed to profit from carbon credit trading?  BANKERS

You decide.

"Everyone in Britain could be given a personal 'carbon allowance'

"Everyone in Britain should have an annual carbon ration and be penalised if they use too much fuel, the head of the Environment Agency will say.
Lord Smith of Finsbury believes that implementing individual carbon allowances for every person will be the most effective way of meeting the targets for cutting greenhouse gas emissions.
It would involve people being issued with a unique number which they would hand over when purchasing products that contribute to their carbon footprint, such as fuel, airline tickets and electricity.
Like with a bank account, a statement would be sent out each month to help people keep track of what they are using.
If their "carbon account" hits zero, they would have to pay to get more credits.
Those who are frugal with their carbon usage will be able to sell their unused credits and make a profit.
Lord Smith will call for the scheme to be part of a "Green New Deal" to be introduced within 20 years when he addresses the agency's annual conference on Monday.
An Environment Agency spokesman said only those with "extravagant lifestyles" would be affected by the carbon allowances.
He said: "A lot of people who cycle will get money back. It will probably only be bankers and those with extravagant lifestyles who would lose out."
However, some have criticised the move as "Orwellian" and say it will have a detrimental impact on business.
Ruth Lea, an economist from Arbuthnot Banking Group, told the Daily Mail: "This is all about control of the individual and you begin to wonder whether this is what the green agenda has always been about.
It's Orwellian. This will be an enormous tax on business."
Under the Climate Change Act, Britain is obliged to cut its emissions by 80 per cent on 1990 levels by 2050. This means annual CO2 emissions per person will have to fall from about 9 tonnes to only 2 tonnes."

Fascists. All of them. I am convinced the politicos of all nations just have it in their genetic make up to steal and control from those that produce. Since these politicos have no other skill sets, they leech, that is all, plain and simple, they are leeches. They don't give a hoot about the people they pretend to lead, they use thier subjects to enrich and support their miserable unproductive lives. This carbon crap global warming is the coup de grace which will bring what prosperity we have to a miserable end.

I have relatives in Europe, it ain't pretty, if we go down this road, we're done.

Thanks Jarasan! This previous blog post seems to go a long way at explaining what you just said:

"Serial killers and politicians share traits

"Psychopathy is a personality disorder manifested in people who use a mixture of charm, manipulation, intimidation, and occasionally violence to control others, in order to satisfy their own selfish needs. Although the concept of psychopathy has been known for centuries, the FBI leads the world in the research effort to develop a series of assessment tools, to evaluate the personality traits and behaviors attributable to psychopaths.

Interesting that you bring up psychopathy and politics. Just read a great article (written last January) at Strike The Root entitled "Why Does the World Feel Wrong".   Maybe you posted this before (?), but here's the link...

Thanks Rick! Brilliant article I would have posted had I found it. This sums it up well:

"........Our battle for liberty appears not just as a conflict between those who want freedom versus those who want control, but instead as the battle between normal people and the psychopaths. I have found incredible explanatory power of our world within the psychopathic hypothesis: The world feels wrong because psychopaths run it. ......"
