Would-Be Thief Hits KCRA 3 Vehicle
SACRAMENTO, Calif. --

The holidays are a good reminder for people -- even those who cover the news -- to watch their belongings closely.
Someone broke into an unmarked KCRA 3 news vehicle Tuesday that was parked outside a Best Buy store in Sacramento's Natomas neighborhood.
A camera inside the vehicle recorded what happened.
Sacramento police Sgt. Norm Leong watched the video and said these types of break-ins are common and can happen to anyone.
"That was only a couple seconds, so that's how quickly something can be stolen," Leong said. "In this case, fortunately, you guys bolt down your cameras."
Police are warning shoppers to keep their goods out of sight when storing them in vehicles during the holiday season.
