That stalagtite, first pic, shows absolute global warming. Forecasters say we are highly likely to have snow and sleet Friday during the day, snow and rain Friday night.

Now they are saying that the relatively warmer weather in Vancouver, Canada is proof positve of the chaos that global warming causes!

Thanks Konane! Rare event in Feb. in GA.! Hope they are wrong and global warming rules the day and you end up with rain! I used to live in Zip 30084. So, looking at the national loop radar, it appears the system that is gonna get ya' is coming straight from the SW heading directly East towards Miss. Alabama and Georgia then up here!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! AYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!!!!!!!!!!!!! What is happening is caused by a huge dip of Artic air that sinks right down a bit east of the Mississippi river and east to the Atlantic. I'll post an image of the barometric pressure conditions that are steering these systems, check out the low pressure of the storm that is passing over us 988 mbs.! Several things to note cold air sinks, hot air rises, cold air is denser than warmer air, so the higher the barometric pressure the denser the air,   the colder the air. So when differing masses of air with differing pressures meet and are driven by atmospherically varying wind speeds dependent on altitutude, warming during the day (Sun) and cooling thru the night (no Sun)..................well.......... meterologists are playing the NUMBERS! So the point of my dissertation is that NOAA is giving you guys a 60%- 40% chance of ice and snow 2 days out.

Now they're saying that north Georgia is going to be cold and southern Georgia and northern Florida are going to get snow. Their best guess for now until the wind changes.

Ice is like a four letter word down here .. all heck breaks loose, limbs and trees take out more power lines ... cities close down. Collision shops thrive.
